About Reza

  • Job role: IT Helpdesk Manager
  • Team: IT Helpdesk
  • Office location: Axis HQ, Lund, Sweden
  • Time at Axis: 12 years

What is your role at Axis?

I am the manager for the IT Helpdesk in Lund, but my team and I cover all of Sweden. We’re a team of around 40 passionate IT Technicians working within various support networks. We’re the first line to call for all things IT related. It could be supporting client computers across all platforms, telephones such as reception switchboards, handling the audio and video for any broadcasting events or supporting most of the Axis internal systems.

I have been with Axis for a number of years, and this is my fourth role here. Before this I was a Project Manager for camera accessories, a manager in the Recording Solutions team, then a Site Designer Manager.

I’ve had my own journey and my own goals during my time here, and it was very easy to fulfill them thanks to Axis. The company culture here is one of not being afraid to try new things, and that that is not just with our products and solutions. If a colleague wants to try something new here, they are encouraged to try.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

There is something new and challenging almost every day. It’s what makes my role so exciting. It can often involve a lot of meetings and collaborations with different departments as we look to find new ways of working efficiently to improve the overall experience for our clients and colleagues in line with the strategies of our team and Axis. We are a support organization, so there is often a lot of questions as well.

We also try to play floorball in our own facilities’ indoor hall after work every now and then with some colleagues from our department.

“I started at Axis when I was 29, and I remember telling my wife after a week that I wish I had looked to join earlier. I truly feel like I’m in the right place here.”

If someone were to apply for a job in your team, what could they expect?

I normally use the quote: “There is little success, where there is little laughter” which really reflects our team. We try to be a little better for each day and have fun at the same time. It is very important to me that we all have fun while also looking to improve ourselves or our way of working and for our colleagues. Our role at Axis is to make sure everyone else can work as flawlessly as possible.

As a support organization it is often are faced with a lot of issues, so it’s important that we can enjoy the successes of our team and of Axis and have fun in the process.

What do you enjoy most about working at Axis?

Axis works for a smarter and safer world, which is true in more than one way. That doesn’t only apply when it comes to our offering of products, solutions, and services. It also applies to our ethical and sustainability-led mindset. For instance, we have actively turned down sales projects as they weren’t aimed with ethical valued purposes or end customers in mind. This makes me very proud to work at Axis.

How would you describe the Axis company culture?

I started at Axis when I was 29, and I remember telling my wife after a week that I wish I had looked to join earlier. I truly feel like I’m in the right place here. The culture of Axis is invaluable. Our core values are not only words, each and every employee tries their upmost to act as one, stay open and think big. Axis puts a lot of effort during the recruitment process to make sure that the candidates fit in within the company culture and it shows.

If I would use one word to describe the entire culture and way of working, it would be “Welcoming”. You’re welcome as you are. You’re welcome to try new things. You’re welcome with ideas. And foremost, it’s a very welcoming environment to try new things and take on new challenges within the company, both in Sweden but also in other regions.

What’s your ideal day off?

My ideal day off would include being on an adventure with my family or a day trip to a new place we haven’t seen before, working out and also coaching my son’s football team.
