Sebastian Nilsson, HR Director in EMEA, talks about Axis being a great place to work.

We are thrilled to announce that we are now certified as a Great Place to Work, validating what we suspected: our employees genuinely enjoy coming to work. What’s behind the results, and what stood out in this survey based on employee feedback?

Great Place To Work (GPTW) certification recognizes employers who create an outstanding workplace experience. Results are based on employee feedback via a survey evaluating credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and community. We were certified as a GPTW in 24 countries (all the countries that qualified to enter) in our three markets: Americas (Northern America), EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), and APAC (Asia–Pacific).

Zanky Shah, HR Specialist from the Americas, explains why we participate, “Employee surveys help us understand workplace satisfaction, engagement, and overall organizational health as well as areas for improvement. They can lead to a more positive, open, and transparent culture, which ultimately contributes to the success of our business.” Eriny Tjin, HR Specialist from the APAC, agrees, “As our APAC team grows, it’s imperative for us to have a system to monitor how our employees feel at work and areas we can improve on.”

We spoke to Sebastian Nilsson, HR Director in EMEA, about the GPTW survey results for EMEA. He told us that we achieved an impressive 96% participation rate across our EMEA markets – a sign that people at Axis want to engage and contribute to a better workplace.

Pride stood out as one of our strongest scores, with 94% of our EMEA employees saying they are proud to tell others they work at Axis, and a large majority find special meaning in their work. Sebastian elaborates on what’s behind this score: “Because of the nature of our business, people at Axis feel they are making a difference and that their work is more than just a job; it is an important contribution to safety and security in the society.”

Our commitment to fairness also shone through in the survey results; employees across EMEA answered that they feel valued and that everyone is treated fairly regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, or ethnicity. “This makes us really proud because this is the sort of company we strive to be,” comments Sebastian.

Of course, the survey highlighted where we still have room for improvement, which is equally valuable to understand as how well we are doing. For example, there was an indication that colleagues want to be more involved in organizational changes and kept informed about ongoing activities. We plan to address this by strengthening our internal communications, increasing collaboration, and continuing to invest in leadership training.

Sebastian elaborates on why, in his experience, Axis is a GPTW, “I have worked here for 17 years, and for me, it’s our core values that drive everything we do. We are also a company in constant motion, which makes us a great environment for passionate, ambitious people. A healthy work-life balance and an inclusive culture makes everyone feel welcome.” He continues, “Are we satisfied with the survey results? Yes and No. The certification makes us very proud, but we can’t sit back and relax. There is always more to be done to continue being a great place to work in our industry.”

The survey results affirm that we are a company with purpose where everyone is connected to our vision of making the world safer and smarter. It demonstrates our strong company culture and focus on creating a great work environment where respect and pride are at the core. Eriny Tjin concludes, “This is a proud moment as we recognize our team’s ongoing commitment and contributions to bringing our core values and vision to life and helping build a smarter, safer world.”
