What is your role at Axis?

As the National Sales Manager for India and the SAARC region at Axis, my role involves ensuring a balance between responsibility and output. My team’s mission is to deliver the Axis vision to our ecosystem, while maintaining a workplace that is enjoyable and engaging. What I enjoy most about my job is the opportunity to travel and connect with colleagues and partners. It is incredibly rewarding to build relationships and identify new opportunities for growth.

Interestingly, a chance encounter with a palmist in my hometown in India many years ago predicted a future filled with travel. Little did I know that this prophecy would become a reality, and I’m grateful for the opportunities that Axis has provided me to explore new horizons.

How would you sum up how your career has looked since you joined?

As I reflect on my fourteen-year journey at Axis, I am reminded of the exceptional experience that drew me to this organization. In 2011, I joined as a Distribution Sales Manager, and the rigorous interview process concluded with a remarkable gesture. When I was unable to travel, the interviewing team flew down to meet me in Hyderabad, showcasing the company’s genuine interest in getting to know me.

This personal touch not only demonstrated Axis commitment to its people but also instilled in me a sense of belonging. Throughout my tenure, I have learned the value of being people-oriented in sales. While initially focused on numbers and quotas, I have come to realize the importance of developing meaningful partnerships and engaging with stakeholders.

With a culture that values learning, inclusivity, and open-mindedness, I’ve been able to apply my experiences, learn from others, and grow in ways I never thought possible at Axis.

What makes Axis stand out?

When I first joined Axis and relocated from Hyderabad to Bangalore, it took me some time to settle in. However, I soon found myself immersed in the company culture and building connections with the teams. A pivotal moment was attending the annual company kick-off, which provided an opportunity to meet colleagues and experience the full dynamic Axis culture.

What stands out to me are the people. They are the heart and soul of Axis. At the heart of our organisation lies a strong, supportive community that reflects the essence of our culture.

What can a new employee expect?

All I can say is “Welcome to Axis!”. You have picked the right organization to join! One thing that sets us apart is our unique blend of global and local culture. We are a people-oriented organization, we take pride in being approachable and open-minded.

At Axis, we focus on building long-term success, rather than seeking quick wins. Take your time to understand our culture, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. We have a dedicated support system in place to help you integrate comfortably into Axis.

Our teams are always open and happy to welcome new colleagues. One thing that has helped me succeed here is being receptive to feedback. Our team is passionate about supporting each other.

Fun fact about yourself?

One of my proudest moments is overcoming my fear of swimming! I used to miss out on all the pool fun at Axis events, but last year I decided to take the plunge – literally – and learn how to swim during my time off.

Now, I can join in the pool activities, and I seize every chance to dive in and push past my comfort zone. I have yet to conquer the ocean, but I’m ready for the challenge!
