What to expect when joining our vibrant Head Quarter Campus in Lund

Axis in Lund, Sweden, is not only our global headquarters (HQ) but a campus of creativity, innovation, and collaboration. With over 3,000 employees across dynamic departments, our campus is designed to encourage cross-functional teamwork, learning, fostering new innovations that drive Axis forward.
We sat down with Louise Dolck Strömberg, HR Director Sweden, to learn more about the unique environment and welcoming community at our HQ campus in Lund.

Can you tell us more about the different departments in Lund and their global impact?
Absolutely! Our Lund campus is home to one of Sweden’s largest R&D departments, with around 2,000 engineers, alongside our R&D sites in Linköping and Stockholm. Our R&D team drives innovation, ensuring Axis stays at the cutting edge of technology. We reinvest about 18% of our revenue annually into R&D, showing our dedication to innovation and continuous growth. Axis is a leader in innovation, ranked among the top companies in Sweden for patent applications. Since registering our first patent in the 1990s, Axis has secured patents for around 2,000 inventions worldwide.
Our 500-strong Operations team manages the global supply chain, ensuring smooth delivery from product development to shipping. The Global Sales and Marketing team in Lund, with over 200 employees, collaborates with regional teams worldwide to strengthen partner and customer relationships and promote our products and solutions. Our HR team focuses on recruitment, learning and development, and fostering our company culture globally. The Facilities team oversees all our properties, creating a positive work environment by ensuring safety, managing conference spaces, providing food and beverage services, and other essential facility operations. Meanwhile, the IT, Finance, and Legal departments are vital in ensuring global compliance, resource management, and information security.
How does the physical HQ Campus encourage collaboration and innovation?
The Axis HQ Campus consists of several buildings that are designed to foster connection and creativity. At the heart of the campus is the 10-story HQ building, called Grenden, which features a large auditorium for gatherings, spacious fika and dining areas, dynamic meeting rooms, and office spaces. It also houses an “Axis Experience Center” and a Sky lounge for events and meetings. The HQ Campus spaces are crafted to encourage collaboration, whether through informal “fika” chats, formal meetings, or after-hours activities. With facilities like a gym, pickleball court, and a fitness area as well, we ensure employees have plenty of opportunities to relax, recharge, and connect with colleagues.
Learning and development seem to be a strong focus at Axis. Can you tell us more?
Learning is absolutely at the core of our culture at Axis. We heavily invest in personal and professional development, with formal learning programs, training, and internal events like brown-bag lectures and tech talks, where employees can share knowledge or learn from external experts. This commitment to learning is integrated into every part of Axis, from onboarding to ongoing training, helping us continually grow as a company.
You mentioned onboarding. What can new employees expect when they join Axis?
We ensure all new employees feel welcome from day one. Every year, we host several Intro Days, inviting new colleagues from around the world to Lund. These days include workshops, presentations, networking sessions, and campus tours to immerse new hires in our culture and help them settle in quickly.
Axis is continuing to grow. What are your plans for the future?
Yes, we’re experiencing significant growth, not only in new market segments and recruitment but also with the expansion of our Axis HQ Campus. We’re currently building a new facility called Opera, which will be located within the campus area. This building will provide around 550 office spaces, and a new logistics center will be located on the ground floor. Our goal is to continue expanding and attracting new talent while preserving the collaborative and innovative culture that sets Axis apart.
