Finding the right student position at a company can be a crucial step towards gaining knowledge and launching your career. Whether you’re looking for a summer job, a thesis project, or a steppingstone to a full-time career, Axis offers a range of inspiring opportunities. To learn more about the opportunities at Axis, we spoke to Oscar Thuresson, Student Relations Specialist in Lund, and Hannah Skog, HR Generalist in Linköping.
From summer jobs to thesis projects
Axis has a long history of working with students; it’s part of our DNA and a clear company success factor. Students and thesis projects have always played a key role in shaping Axis. Since its founding, we have invited students to explore new technologies and advance our products. Today, Axis welcomes around 250 students every year, including thesis projects, summer jobs, part-time work, and internships, making it possible to gain experience in the final stage of your studies.
Students at Axis have the chance to take on real, hands-on work across different departments. Most of the work clusters around R&D, attracting students from engineering backgrounds in both bachelor’s and master’s programs. There are also positions in other parts of the organization, including customer support, sales and marketing. With opportunities in our offices in Lund, Linköping, and Stockholm, you can find something to match your skills, career aspirations, and location.
Contributing knowledge
Thesis projects have been the starting point for some of Axis best-known and most successful products and patents.
Students don’t just observe—they contribute. You’ll get to work on real projects, shadow professionals, and gain insights into how the company operates. It’s very hands-on. You get involved in tasks that actually matter to the company.

What you learn can be very different from what you learn at university, and it’s immensely rewarding to see your work implemented in a real product. “And of course, if a student contributes to a patent, they are eligible for the patent incentive – another rewarding outcome.”
It’s not just the students who benefit from this opportunity; Axis welcomes the fresh knowledge and latest insights we gain as a company. “We gain new perspectives from working with students, particularly in emerging technologies, which help us to continuously innovate,” says Oscar.
The benefits of student work at Axis
Working at Axis isn’t just about gaining work experience—it’s about setting yourself up for future success. Here’s what you’ll get:

Career growth
One of the advantages of working at Axis as a student is the potential for long-term employment. Many people begin their journey with the company through a thesis project or internship and later transition into full-time roles. While a full-time role is not a given, Axis actively supports you in developing skills, ensuring you are well-prepared for future roles within the company and beyond. “Many of our former thesis workers have gone on to become Axis engineers,” Hannah shares. “It’s a great way to start your career in a company that values your skills and potential.”
