Grow, innovate, create: Life as a C# developer at Axis
December 8, 2025

Reliability and precision are the foundation of everything we deliver, and our C# developers play a vital role in shaping mission-critical applications that make a difference every day. To get an inside look, we sat down with three of our experienced software developers — Emma Samuelsson, Rikard Funck and Isabel Liljeblad — who shared what life is really like as a C# developer at Axis.
What does a C# developer do?
Working as a C# developer at Axis means endless opportunities to apply your skills, from creating end-to-end solutions to building powerful internal test systems and contributing to diverse teams across our product ecosystem. Axis developers work on a wide range of applications, all united by the versatile .NET platform.
Whether you’re just starting your career or you’re already a seasoned expert, Axis is a place where you can grow, experiment, and thrive. As Emma put it:
“If you’re someone who wants to grow within your career and as a person, take on new challenges, and become a better version of yourself, this is a good place to be.”

Technology meets purpose
Our software is the backbone of our offering, enabling products to operate seamlessly and deliver real customer value. It’s what allows all our products to connect and deliver smart, functional applications. So, what’s been on the table of our C# developers lately? For Emma, it was the launch of AXIS Camera Station Pro, Axis own video management software:
“My team has general responsibility for the front end, and for this launch, we remade the look and feel of the software — upgrading the theme, tweaking the colors, and adding new features. It was so fun to work on.”
“Yeah, this is a really important and cool piece of software since it allows us to talk to the devices that Axis produces,” adds Rikard.
For Isabel, it’s been about developing our manufacturing test framework, a vital part of ensuring our products are delivered with consistent quality.
“Life at Axis never gets boring, and for me, the best part is all the troubleshooting and problem-solving we get to do on a daily basis.”

What makes being a C# Engineer at Axis unique?
Rikard points out the unique history,
“We were a relatively early adopter of C#, switching our applications over from other languages when it was still fairly new. As a result, we have the opportunity to work on code that has changed and adapted over a long time, offering a rich and diverse way to develop.
Emma explains that she appreciates the freedom to be creative,
“You get to put your own spin on things. There is a lot of trust, but you’re always close to colleagues with whom you can discuss things. It’s a collaborative process with a lot of freedom.”
And Isabel highlights the thrill of problem-solving:
“Life at Axis never gets boring, and for me, the best part is all the troubleshooting and problem-solving we get to do on a daily basis.”
An inspiring work environment
At Axis, you’ll find an agile, open-minded culture where developers are encouraged to experiment, grow, and share ideas. We value not only technical skills but also creativity, collaboration, and curiosity.
“We sit in our different teams, but are always interacting between them as well,” explains Rikard. “One day we might be solving a customer support case together with the product specialists, and another day we might develop something with the cloud platform. You really feel part of something bigger and that you are heard by both management and colleagues around you.”
