March 12, 2025

We are rapidly expanding our Body worn camera solution team, to meet the growing demand in a key market segment supporting public safety worldwide. We’re looking for passionate Software developers, QA engineers, and managers to join our R&D teams in Lund and Linköping in Sweden. If you’re eager to work on groundbreaking technology and new innovations, this is your chance.
To learn more about this groundbreaking area and the expansion, we spoke with Martin Dremo, Manager for Body worn camera solutions at Axis.
Meeting the needs of customers worldwide with tailored solutions
“What sets our Body worn camera solution team apart is how closely we work with our customers worldwide,” Martin explains. “We take the time to visit them, understand their challenges, and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs.” Our team serves police forces, prisons, security guards, hospitals, the transport sector, retail, and many more industries where the safety of staff and guests is paramount. As with most projects undertaken by our team, the solutions require a variety of skill sets to work with a complete solution including hardware, cloud storage, mobile apps, partner integration, and services to create a seamless, end-to-end solution.

Expanding into new markets with a growing team
“As the Body worn camera solutions market thrives, our team is focused on substantial expansion over the next two years, with much of this already underway. It’s not just about growing headcount— Axis solutions are also entering new segments and markets, driven by impressive growth in 2024,” says Martin.
So, what expertise is needed in our team? “Our solution is very comprehensive, which means we need a wide range of skills,” Martin explains. This includes quality assurance engineers, managers, and software developers fluent in various programming languages, such as C, TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, and more.
Be part of our collaborative culture to fuel your innovation and career growth
The unique nature of our Body worn camera solutions attracts a wealth of talent. “We have some exceptional software engineers working on these solutions, some of the best in the business,” Martin shares. “So, if you’re a young engineer starting out here, you’ll get to work with and learn from experienced and inspiring people.” He explains that it’s easy to move around and change roles within the team, but also Axis. “It’s a big company with around 2000 R&D engineers that takes care of you and wants you to succeed; there are so many opportunities to grow and learn.”
The Body worn camera solutions team is focused on delivering exceptional innovations and enabling the end customer to do their job and feel safe. Training and development are a core part this, exemplified by the Free Friday initiative – a bi-weekly opportunity for engineers to dedicate a day to R&D. “This is how we continue to stay ahead in our field,” Martin says, “By giving the team the time and space to innovate.” Collaboration is another key to success, “We value togetherness; we work together, grow together, and celebrate success together,” Martin explains. They also collaborate with coworkers across Axis, drawing on the extensive expertise used for our other products.
“Axis has a fantastic and friendly work culture,” Martin enthuses, “The environment is open, supportive, and collaborative, and our team takes it to another level. We’re a team with a mission.”
