Join Axis EMEA: A Region of innovation, growth, and collaboration
November 22, 2024
Over 450 employees in 20 offices serve over 130 countries in our Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. To learn more about what makes Axis EMEA such a dynamic and rewarding place to work, we spoke with Mario Vigevani in Milan (Director Alliance, Portfolio & Customer Services, EMEA) and Hala Tabbara in Paris (Inside Sales Account Manager, Central East and South East France).
With offices in cities including London, Lund, Paris, Milan and Dubai, our EMEA sales region is rich in culture and diversity. It also contributes a significant one-third of Axis total turnover, serving predominantly the transport, government and critical infrastructure sectors. While there are many continents and countries within this region, according to Hala, values are what brings them together.
Mario adds his perspective, “We also invest a lot of time and effort in ensuring we come together, whether in the regular teams all hands call, our annual regional kick-off, or the Intro Days in Lund, which you attend as a new employee.” The region also has close links to the Axis headquarters in Lund, both geographically and in terms of support. “HQ is always there to answer our questions and help out,” says Hala, “Which is reassuring.”
A collaborative effort
EMEA is a sales region with functions including Sales Account Managers, Territory Sales Managers, Account Managers, Key Account Managers, Architect & Engineering Managers, Sales Engineers, Pre-sales Engineers, Inside Sales Account Managers, Distribution Account Managers, and a French-speaking support team based in Lund. The Axis sales team is in direct contact with partners, distributors and end customers, not for direct sales, but to understand their needs and concerns so we can improve our service. Hala explains in more detail, “Every office has a sales team and a sales engineering team. We work closely with the end customers to answer their questions about the technical parts and sales. So, it’s a collaborative effort.”
We also have an HR representative and office managers in each country, which makes it easy for our sales team to get the direct support they need to perform at their best.
Pioneering change
The EMEA region is similar to other Axis regions in many ways, and because of that, as Mario explains, “We can always help each other and learn from one another.” But there is one innovation this region has become known for in our industry; Mario elaborates, “Around ten years ago, we developed a new way of using thermal cameras, which previously had a minimal application, but the technology is so sophisticated we felt it could be used more widely. That’s when we tested thermal imaging in network cameras, and the results were phenomenal but, importantly, affordable for the customer. This way of working is now a global standard that resulted from our region’s out-of-the-box thinking. That’s what we do best.”
A place to stay and grow
“I’ve made so many friends here,” says Hala, explaining why she enjoys her role. She continues, “I think that’s because of our including core values. People live that, and you get to know each other during our annual kick-offs. This is a very human organization.” This sentiment is also reflected in the fact that 11 EMEA countries were certified as a Great Place to Work, the global standard for workplace culture.
For Mario, it’s the fact that Axis is continuously changing, scaling, and growing its product offerings, so you can always keep learning even though you are at the same company. “I’ve been at Axis for 13 years; I would never have thought I would have stayed so long in one company!” he says. “The innovative mindset and the people are the two reasons why I joined Axis and why I am still here today.”
