What is your role at Axis and what does a typical day look like for you?
As the Area Sales Manager, my role is to lead the sales teams in Western Canada. l work at the Axis office in Vancouver where I manage the day-to-day at our Axis Experience Centre (AEC).
My typical day can vary significantly, which always keeps things exciting. I could be jumping on a flight to support an important customer meeting, helping out at a tradeshow, providing coaching to a team member, or sitting in on a review meeting to go over all the exciting events we have planned. If I boil it down, my job really is to help my team succeed in any way possible. Thankfully, I have a pretty amazing team that is committed to not just achieving our sales targets but also to building lasting relationships with our customers and partners in the region.
Coming from a non-security background, how was your transition into Axis?
Axis champions the belief that skills can be taught and that as long as you have the right attitude, you can be successful. With supportive leadership and an open culture, I leveraged my previous experiences in SaaS and learned on the job to thrive in my role.
How does Axis invest in its employees?
Axis is deeply committed to the growth and development of its employees. I’ve had the privilege of moving from a Regional Sales Manager role to becoming the first Area Sales Manager in Canada. This is in no small part due to the mentorship, training, and learning opportunities that Axis offers. We also have a generous tuition reimbursement program that I’m currently using to get my MBA! Axis is definitely a place where ambitions are recognized and nurtured.
We also offer a unique sabbatical program in the Americas where every 5 years you get an additional 3 weeks of vacation time and receive extra spending money to enjoy time off with your loved ones. I recently took mine and went on an amazing trip to Japan!
